Double Stack self-locking Washer Din25201 features wedge locking, a unique method of using tension instead of friction. The slope of the large serration of the two washers is greater than the Angle of the bolt thread. In addition, there are radial serrations on the other side of the washer. Gaskets are mounted in pairs with large teeth facing each other.
When the bolt or nut is tightened, the radial serration bites the contact surface tightly to hold the washer in place, allowing only relative movement between the large tooth surfaces. Any tendency of the bolt or nut to loosen is stopped by this wedging effect of the large saw tooth. The lifting distance between the two washers is greater than the lifting distance of the bolt or nut due to thread sliding.
The vibration test washer can effectively lock fasteners under any vibration or dynamic load. Most locking devices in common use today have very limited performance when subjected to vibration. The vibration test of the double-stack self-locking gasket showed good results, although the clamping force was reduced due to normal contact subsidence at the beginning of the vibration. When the nut is removed with a wrench, the clamping force rises significantly, which fully demonstrates the superior locking function of the double stack self-locking washer.
